+ Management Team
Mayflex employs approximately 150 people, many of which have been with the company for a number of years, thereby providing stability and an incredible knowledge of both the company and the industry.
The team is led by an experienced and dedicated management team.
Robert Mayall - Executive Chairman
Robert commenced work with Mayall & Co Ltd in the autumn of 1967. At the time, Mayflex was a small electrical wholesaler at Park Street, Birmingham with a branch in Nottingham. Since that time he has reinvented the company on more than one occasion, firstly changing to a specialist distributor to the control gear industry then importing cables from Italy and Spain in the mid 80s. Later on Robert began importing cables from South Korea and Taiwan including coaxial and computer cables, and in the 1990s the company expanded its cable sales into networking products, leading to the companys current position in the market.
As Executive Chairman, Robert is involved principally in the strategic policy of the company which encompasses our three year plan.
Andrew Percival - Managing Director
Andrew joined what was then Mayall and Co from school in 1984. Over the years since he has worked in a variety of roles from his original picking and packing in the warehouse, through a variety of sales and business development roles, to his current post as group Managing Director. Andrew's time is mostly spent reviewing and setting the groups long term strategies for customer, market and product development as well as keeping a close eye on customer service quality.
Since his appointment as Managing Director in January 2000, Andrew has built a strong and competent board and management team to support and meet the demands of the company's customers, and to support the development and needs of its staff. Andrew plays golf badly, and enjoys relaxing with his nephew and twin nieces.
Mark Simmons - Sales Director
Mark joined Mayflex in March 2011 in the position as Sales Director. He brings in excess of 20 years selling experience in the Converged IP market and is focused on driving the business forward to achieve the strategic goals of the company.
Most recently holding the position of Sales Director for a major IP convergence reseller, Mark has worked in a variety of Account Management, Sales, and Sales Management roles throughout his career. His experience of selling structured cabling, LAN and WLAN Ethernet, managed services, voice, and physical security makes him well placed to drive the sales teams forward across infrastructure, networking and security and will help Mayflex to develop a converged IP strategy across the business.
Mark is a keen sports fan and enjoys playing golf, running and watching all sports especially his beloved West Ham. Mark lives in Ruislip, West London with his wife and 3 children.
Margaret Butterfield - Finance Director
Margaret joined the company in April 1994 as Finance Director, her job role and key responsibilities have evolved over the years in line with Mayflex's growth and financial demands. Her current key responsibilities¬ are to drive the financial strategy of the group, monitor and implement financial risk management enhancements and monitor financial statistics and trend analysis to ensure the group's financial position supports and is in line with the group's corporate rolling three year growth strategy. Margaret also has overall responsibility for Human Resources and IT.
Margaret qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1986 and rose to the position of senior audit manager before taking a career break in 1993 following the birth of her first child. Margaret is married with two grown up children. She enjoys the outdoor life and spends much of her spare time walking and gardening.
Jason Rudge - Supply Chain Director
Previously Jason had worked as Purchasing Manager within an IT infrastructure installer for more than 4 years. He joined Mayflex in 1997 as Purchasing Manager; In 2002 Jason increased his role to become the Product Development Manager with more focus required on developing current manufacturers, sourcing new products and technology solutions.
In October 2007 Jason was promoted to Supply Chain Director, with primary responsibility for the movement of goods throughout the whole supply chain from Manufacturer to end user. Jason is now responsible for various teams consisting of Purchasing, Product Development, Operations, Logistics, Technical Support and Customer Services.
Jason enjoys football and golf, and lives in Sutton Coldfield with his wife, their twins and dog.
Ian Irving - Director of Sales, Infrastructure, North
Ian joined Mayflex in September 2009 as Infrastructure Sales Manager (Midlands and North), having worked in the data cabling industry for 22 years where he has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience. He manages a team of external account managers and is focused on developing long lasting partnerships with our customers' and giving increased focus on this territory.
Ian is a die hard Newcastle fan and enjoys participating in many sports including football, golf, tennis and squash. He lives in Newcastle with his wife Catherine and their five children.
Jeff Wakeling - Director of Sales, Infrastructure, South
Jeff joined Mayflex in October 2012 from NG Bailey IT Services. He has 18 years working in the IT industry, holding management positions within Design, Project Management and Sales Teams and previous to that spent 7 years working in the security industry as an installer.
Jeff has extensive experience of managing key accounts by working closely with individuals to align company values and strategic goals. He leads the southern infrastructure sales team in implementing a focused, strategic approach to selling to ensure that we achieve our growth targets.
A keen fisherman, Jeff enjoys outdoor life and countryside and lives on the South Coast with his wife and a 7 year old daughter, 3 cats and 2 dogs. He is an Arsenal fan and enjoys good food and wine.
Anita Mistry - Director of Sales, Networking
Anita joined Mayflex in 2007 as the Aruba Vendor Manager, bringing with her a wealth of sales experience, built up during 15 years of working for the likes of Extreme Networks, 3Com UK Limited and XMA Computer Products. In January 2011 she was promoted to Director of Sales Networking and manages a team of internal and external sales personnel.
As a senior level business development manager, Anita has many years of international experience, working in Europe, USA and the Far East in both early stage start up companies and large business units.
Her interests include working out at her local gym, cooking, travelling, walking and running. Originally from Birmingham, Anita and her family now reside in a small village called Stone, near Aylesbury.
Gary Harmer - Director of Sales, Electronic Security
Gary joined the Mayflex team in January 2011 as Director of Sales Electronic Security and brings with him over 20 years of distribution experience in the security market. His previous roles included management of sales teams operating in National and Strategic accounts and also the Retail and Transport vertical markets. He has a customer service background prior to moving into sales.
Originally from West London, Gary now lives in Surrey with his wife. He has 2 sons one of whom lives in London and the youngest is at University in Sussex. In his spare time Gary enjoys skiing, live music and motorcycling and has recently acquired a Harley Davidson on which he plans to travel in Europe.
Nadeen Tisi - Director of Sales, International
Having previously worked for GE and Bosch, Nadeen joined Mayflex in August 2007, heading up the Fibre Optech Team. She was then promoted to International Sales Manager in November 2008. She now manages a team of internal and external business development managers, essentially covering Europe, and is responsible for the International sales budget for Mayflex Europe.
Nadeen has a passion for wine, snowboarding, kite surfing, motor sports and the mighty Arsenal.
Martin Eccleston - Commercial Manager
Martin joined Mayflex in 2002 as Commercial Manager looking after the Internal Sales Operations both from a reactive and proactive perspective. During this period his remit has expanded to also cover both the Customer Service and Technical Support Teams. His main focus within these departments is to ensure that, in accordance with company objectives, they deliver to the customer base a top quality service, in line with the company's visions and values.
Martin, who lives with his partner Karen and their two children, spends his spare time devoted to the other love of his life - football, following both Liverpool and England as well as coaching his youngest son's Under 12s Team.
Tracey Calcutt - Marketing Manager
Tracey joined Mayflex in April 1999 in the role as marketing manager and over that time has put together a core team of people who are responsible for the marketing communications within the business. With over 25 years marketing experience and having previously worked at Tandon Computers and Mitsubishi Electric PC Division, she has a good background of working within the IT industry. Whilst working at Tandon she completed a two year CIM Advanced Certificate in Marketing course at night school.
In her free time Tracey is a keen horse rider and lives with her partner and two dogs in Droitwich.
Lyn Dolphin - Group Finance Manager
Lyn joined Mayflex in January 2000. She is involved in the development of the company strategy and the planning, implementation and monitoring of the desired objectives. Lyn produces the statutory accounts through to point of audit and prepares all of the company budgets in conjunction with individual operational managers. Lyn also produces the monthly management accounts and the supporting analyses and has responsibility for credit control with currently over 5000 live customers and treasury involving USD, HKD, EUR and GBP.
Outside of Mayflex Lyn is a keen cyclist, and enjoys reading and spending time with her partner.
Simon Robinson - Product Manager Infrastructure
Simon joined Mayflex in January 2010 as the Product Manager Infrastructure. He brings nearly 15 years experience from the data cabling industry working for a manufacturer and an installation company in a variety of roles.
In his role of Infrastructure Product Manager, Simon is responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of our Infrastructure product portfolio, ensuring that the company maximises sales opportunities presented by the market. He will also be instrumental in developing the Excel brand, a significant brand in Mayflex's offering.
Outside of work Simon pursues his interest in aviation by maintaining and flying his Standard Cirrus glider.
Alison Pearce - Strategic Purchasing Manager
Alison has worked for Mayflex for 10 years. Initially joining the company as a Buyer, she was promoted to Purchasing Manager in 2005 and then took on the role of Strategic Purchasing Manager in August 2009.
She has more than 20 years purchasing and procurement experience and has sourced product globally for large multi national companies. She is currently responsible for Mayflexs purchasing for both UK and international markets, and Dubai. She manages vendor selection, contract negotiations and inventory management.
In her spare time, Alison tries to look after an unruly allotment and has a keen interest in property development, having successfully completed the self build of a new home with her husband.
Jonathan Bushell - Head of IT
Jon has been working in IT for 25 years, the last 12 of which he was the IT Manager at Bridgestone UK where he was responsible for all IT in the UK and Ireland as well as co-ordination of IT activity in the Nordic region. Jon’s background is technical rather than application based but he has worked on many projects in both areas of IT.
Jon lives in Walsall, is married with two kids with the eldest at University. He enjoys football and is a big Wolves fan and he still likes to play whenever possible. He also enjoys running and tries to fit in a couple of races every year.
