People

Mayflex employ approximately 150 people, many of which have been with the company for a number of years and thereby providing stability and an incredible knowledge of both the company and the industry.

The team is led by an experienced and dedicated­ management team.

Robert Mayall - Executive Chairman

Robert Mayall

Robert commenced work with ­Mayall & Co Ltd in the autumn of 1967. At the time, Mayflex was a small electrical wholesaler at Park Street, Birmingham with a br­anch in Nottingham. Since that time he has reinvented the company on more than one occasion, firstly changing to a specialist distributor to the control gear industry then importing cables from Italy and Spain in the mid 80s. Later on Robert began importing cables from South Korea and Taiwan including coaxial and computer cables, and in the 1990s the company expanded its cable sales into networking products, leading to the companys current position in the market.

As Executive Chairman, Robert is involved principally in the strategic policy of the company which encompasses our three year plan.

Andrew Percival - Managing Director

Andrew Percival

Andrew joined what was then Mayall and Co from school in 1984. Over the years since he has worked in a variety of roles from his original picking and packing in the warehouse, through a variety of sales and business development roles, to his current post as group Managing Director. Andrew's time is mostly spent reviewing and setting the groups long term strategies for customer, market and product development as well as keeping a close eye on customer service quality.

Since his appointment as Managing Director in January 2000, Andrew has built a strong and competent board and management team to support and meet the demands of the companys customers, and to support the development and needs of its staff. Andrew plays golf badly, and enjoys relaxing with his nephew and twin nieces.

­­Margaret Butterfield - Finance Director

Margaret Butterfield

Margaret joined the company in April 1994 as Finance Director, her job role and key responsibilities have evolved over the years in line with Mayflex's growth and financial demands. Her current key responsibilities are to drive the financial strategy of the group, monitor and implement financial risk management enhancements and monitor financial statistics and trend analysis to ensure the group's financial position supports and is in line with the group's corporate rolling three year growth strategy. Margaret also has overall responsibility for Human Resources.

Margaret qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Kidsons and rose to the position of senior audit manager before taking a career break in 1993 following the birth of her first child. Margaret is married with two children and various livestock. She enjoys the outdoor life and spends much of her spare time walking and gardening.

Jason Rudge - Supply Chain Director

Jason Rudge

Previously Jason had worked as Purchasing Manager within an IT infrastructure installer for more than 4 years. He joined Mayflex in 1997 as Purchasing Manager; In 2002 Jason increased his role to become the Product Development Manager with more focus required on developing current manufacturers, sourcing new products and technology solutions.

In October 2007 Jason was promoted to Supply Chain Director, with primary responsibility for the movement of goods throughout the whole supply chain from Manufacturer to end user. Jason is now responsible for various teams consisting of Purchasing, Product Development, Operations, Logistics, Technical Support and Customer Services.

­ Jason enjoys football and golf, and lives in Sutton Coldfield with his wife and their twins.

John Twidell - Infrastructure Regional Sales Manager

John Twidell

John joined Mayflex in August 2000, initially in an external sales role covering South West England and South Wales. He went on to look after sales within Ireland and was later promoted to Infrastructure Sales Manager in April 2006 where he managed a team of seven external account managers covering the UK & Ireland, an­d was responsible for the Infrastructure sales budget for Mayflex.   In 2009 to cope with the growing number of customers and the expansion of the product portfolio the role was split in to two regions and John now manages the South of the Country with a particular focus on London.  John has worked in distribution for over 19 years in various sales, marketing and product management roles.

John spends any free time he has playing golf, and lives in Swindon with his wife and two children, and two dogs.

Ian Irving - Infrastructure Regional Sales Manager

Ian Irving

Ian joined Mayflex in September 2009 as Infrastructure Sales Manager (Midlands and North), having worked in the data cabling industry for 22 years where he has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience. He manages a team of external account managers and is focused on developing long lasting partnerships with our customers' and giving increased focus on this territory.

Ian is a die hard Newcastle fan and enjoys participating in many sports including football, golf, tennis and squash. He lives in Newcastle with his wife Catherine and their four children.

Martin Eccleston - Commercial Manager

Martin Eccleston

Martin joined Mayflex in 2002 as Commercial Manager looking after the Internal Sales­ Operations both from a reactive and proactive perspective. During this period his remit has expanded to also cover both the Customer Service and Technical Support Teams. His main focus within these departments is to ensure that, in accordance with company objectives, they deliver to the customer base a top quality service, in line with the company's visions and values.

In his free time Martin is a football fanatic, following England, and running his sons Under 9's football team.

Tracey Calcutt - Marketing Manager

Tracey Calcutt

Tracey joined Mayflex in April 1999 in the role as marketing manager and over that time has put together a core team of people who are responsible for the marketing communications within the business. With over 20 years marketing experience and having previously worked at Tandon Computers and Mitsubishi Electric PC Division, she has a good background of working within the IT industry. Whilst working at Tandon she completed a two year CIM Advanced Certificate in Marketing course at night school.

In her free time Tracey is a keen horse owner and rider and lives with her partner and two dogs in Bromsgrove.

Lyn Dolphin - Finance & IT Manager

Lyn Dolphin

Lyn is the finance and IT manager and joined Mayflex in January 2000. She is involved in the development of the company strategy and the planning, implementation and monitoring of the desired objectives. Lyn produces the statutory accounts through to point of audit and prepares all of the company budgets in conjunction with individual operational managers. Lyn also produces the monthly management accounts and the supporting analyses and has responsibility for credit control with currently over 5000 live customers and treasury involving USD, HKD, EUR and GBP.

Outside of Mayflex Lyn is a keen cyclist, and enjoys reading and spending time with her partner.

­­­Richard Bennett­ - Logistics Manager

Richard has been part of the Mayflex senior management team since 2006 in the position of Operations Manager. His role includes managing all internal warehouse functions and also managing the external relationships between 3rd party carriers and delivering best practice. Richard has over 20 yrs experience in operational logistics, warehousing and distribution working for various size organisations including some large blue chip FMCG organisations such as AAH Pharmaceuticals, Office Depot Viking Direct where he played a large part in driving through change and implementing operational efficiencies.

When n­ot being part of the Mayflex team Richards time is spent relaxing with friends and family. His two passions are old school R&B and his home town football club Reading.

­Seamus Ryan - Strateg­ic Business Development Manager

Seamus Ryan

Seamus joined Mayflex in June 2009 in the role of strategic business development manager after completing a 4 month consultancy assignment offering advice to the board on how to grow and develop the business both in the UK and Europe.

Seamus' key role is focusing on developing business links within London, specifically with the London Olympics coming up and to generally increase Mayflexs profile within Europe.

Seamus lives in Oxford and is married to Maxine and has 2 children Jennifer 21 and Dermot 13. Being a keen mountain walker and outdoor enthusiast has meant visits to many of the remote islands off the UK mainland.

Simon Robinson -­ Product Manager In­frastructure

Simon Robinson -­ Product Manager In­frastructure

Simon joined Mayflex i­n January 20­10 as the Product Manager Infrastructure. He brings nearly 15 years experience from the data cabling industry working for a manufacturer and an installation company in a variety of roles.

In his role of Infrastructure Product Manager, Simon is responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of our Infrastructure product portfolio, ensuring that the company maximises sales opportunities presented by the market. He will also be instrumental in developing the Excel brand, a significant brand in Mayflexs offering.

Outside of work Simon pursues his interest in aviation by maintaining and flying his Standard Cirrus glider.

Alison Phillips - Strategic Purchasing Manager

Nadeen Tisi

Alison has worked for Mayfl­ex for 10 years. Initially joining the company as a Buyer, she was promoted to Purchasing Manager in 2005 and then took on the role of Strategic Purchasing Manager in August 2009.

She has more than 20 years purchasing and procurement experience and has sourced product globally for large multi national companies. She is currently responsible for Mayflexs purchasing for both UK and international markets, and Dubai. She manages vendor selection, contract negotiations and inventory management.­

In her spare time, Alison tries to look after an unruly allotment and has a keen interest in property development, having successfully completed the self build of a new home with her partner.
