Aruba Networks Announces Lifetime Warranty Program For Indoor Access Points
27.5.2009Networking NewsSUNNYVALE, California, May 20, 2009 – Aruba Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARUN), a global leader in wireless LANs and secure mobility solutions, today announced that moving forward it will offer a lifetime warranty for all new shipments of AP-120, 70, 60, and RAP-5 families of indoor Wi-Fi access points. Aruba is the world's second largest supplier of enterprise wireless LANs, and is recognized for the rugged construction and high security of its indoor access points. The new lifetime warranty reaffirms Aruba's commitment to delivering value in the products it sells, and provides added peace of mind to customers facing tight operating budgets.
"Aruba's indoor access points are ruggedly designed and built to deliver long service life," said Keerti Melkote, Aruba's co-founder and chief technical officer. "The world-class quality of these products has been proven across hundreds of thousands of fielded units. This experience gives us the confidence and ability to offer a lifetime warranty, and is proof-positive that Aruba stands behind both our customers and our products for the long term."
Products covered by the new warranty include:
- AP-120 Series: single and dual-radio 802.11n - or 802.11a/b/g upgradable over-thenetwork to Draft 2.0 802.11n – indoor access points with industry-leading performance, low power consumption, diminutive packaging, and a Trusted Platform Module for uncompromising security. The AP-120 family was the world's first 802.11n access point to feature full dual-radio 3x3 MIMO operation from a single 802.3af power-over-Ethernet link;
- AP-70: high performance dual-radio 802.11a/b/g indoor access point with integrated flatpanel antennas, external antenna connectors, and a USB port;
- AP-60 Series: single and dual-radio 802.11a/b/g indoor access points featuring very compact packaging and either low-profile internal or external antennas;
- RAP-5 Series: part of Aruba's new Virtual Branch Office solution, the RAP-5 includes 5 high-speed Ethernet ports, a USB port for a broadband 3G cellular modem, hardware accelerated encryption, and, optionally, an 802.11n Wi-Fi radio with integrated antennas.
"A lifetime warranty can play a valuable role in product consideration as it often demonstrates a vendor's confidence in its products," said Jack Heine, research vice president at Gartner. "As organizations continue to look for cost savings opportunities, strong warranty provisions should be considered when calculating lifecycle costs."
Lifetime warranty coverage applies to shipments made on or after 21 May 2009. Coverage remains in place for as long as the product is properly maintained by the original owner, and for up to five years following an end-of-sale announcement.
