The global demand for conventional CCTV systems is showing a downward trend with the escalating demand for IP-based CCTV surveillance.  The balance of the CCTV market is changing rapidly in favour of IP. Global manufacturers are now focusing all their efforts on IP rather than analogue, so it’s becoming more important than ever that integrators understand the benefits of IP and how to install it.

The free CCTV over IP Networks courses, in conjunction with CNet, are being held throughout the year at Mayflex’s headquarters in Birmingham.   The course will cover the following elements:

Introduction to data networks
Find out how data networks, in conjunction with IP protocols, can aide and assist the management of today’s CCTV systems.

Structured cabling systems
Learn about the right and wrong ways to install structured cabling, and find out about the standards and how to adhere to best practices.

Switches and routers
This introduction illustrates what switches and routers do and how they fit into a CCTV over data network design.

IP
An introduction of how TCP and IP work, and how they fit into a data and CCTV network. Find out about how IP address ranges are worked out and implemented.

Troubleshooting
Identify some of the problems that can arise when utilising a structured cabling system.  There can be some simple connectivity issues that arise when operating the IP protocol.
