The guide not only features the full range of fibre products and accessories available from Mayflex but it is also a great reference document with useful information relating to fibre installations.&lt;/p&gt;
  &lt;p&gt;The guide also gives the user an overview of fibre optic cabling systems, details the different types of cable construction and looks at the fibre optic cabling standards.&lt;/p&gt;

<title>Mayflex Expands its Networking Team</title>

<description>&lt;p&gt;April 2013, Mayflex, the cabling infrastructure, networking and electronic security solutions distributor, has expanded its networking division with the recruitment of two new senior roles including a pre-sales consultant and a business development manager.&lt;/p&gt;
  &lt;p&gt;James Izzard takes up the role of pre-sales consultant and will support both new and existing partners to Mayflex. James previously worked for Avnet Technology Solutions for 16 years and is ACMA and ACMP certified with Aruba. &lt;/p&gt;
  &lt;p&gt;Manjit Rai has taken on the business development role.&amp;nbsp; Manjit originally comes from a security background working first at ISS and then spending the last 6 years at IBM where she managed the relationship with a number of distributor partners and worked with the partners to grow their sales revenue.&lt;/p&gt;
  &lt;p&gt;Anita Mistry, Director of Sales – Networking at Mayflex comments, ‘the appointment of these two pivotal roles in the networking team will allow us to continue to grow the number of partners and business we can support&amp;nbsp; with our two key brands Aruba Networks and Extreme Networks. We are continually looking at ways in which we can provide support and opportunities to our customer base and these appointments will allow us to continue to do this.”&lt;/p&gt;
  &lt;p&gt;Anita continues, ‘the team has also benefitted from the creation of an internal pre sales consultant role which has been taken by Junior Rawlins who has worked in the Mayflex technical team for over 4 years. Junior has excellent knowledge levels of both Aruba and Extreme products having obtained the necessary technical qualifications to provide all levels of support.”&lt;/p&gt;

<title>Mayflex Strengthens its Security Sales Team</title>

<description>&lt;p&gt;April 2013, Mayflex, the cabling infrastructure, networking and electronic security solutions distributor, has strengthened its security division with the appointment of two new field sales representatives. John Reid and Peter Collins join Mayflex with 20 years worth of experience of the security industry between them.&lt;/p&gt;
  &lt;p&gt;John joins the sales team as account manager covering the South Wales, Mid Wales and the whole of the western side of the midlands, the NW and Lancashire. Before joining Mayflex John worked as Area Sales Manager for Siemens Security Products and prior to that he worked for Norbain covering a variety of sales roles.&lt;/p&gt;
  &lt;p&gt;Peter joins Mayflex from Bosch Security Systems where he worked as Area Sales Manager and has extensive experience of selling analogue, hybrid and IP CCTV systems. Peter takes up an account management role covering The North East regions and Scotland.&lt;/p&gt;
  &lt;p&gt;Gary Harmer, Director of Sales – Electronic Security at Mayflex commented, “The recruitment of two further sales people, will assist us with our plans to grow the IP security business by a significant amount over the next few years. Ensuring we have an experienced team of sales people in place to do this plays a pivotal role in our success.’&lt;/p&gt;
  &lt;p&gt;Gary continued ‘We have some interesting and exciting times ahead having just become the UK’s sole Avigilon value-added distributor as well as exhibiting at IFSEC 2013 which takes place at the NEC, Birmingham’.&lt;/p&gt;

<title>Excel is No. 2 - UK Copper Cabling Market</title>

<description>&lt;p&gt;8th April 2013, Excel Networking Solutions, the copper and optical cabling infrastructure provider is now the second largest supplier of copper cabling systems according to the BSRIA 2013 Structured Cabling Report for the UK.&lt;/p&gt;
  &lt;p&gt;Excel was one of a few manufacturers to increase its market share, from 15% to 17% at the same time moving from 3rd to 2nd position in the rankings.&lt;/p&gt;
  &lt;p&gt;Excel was also reported as the number one supplier of copper cable for a second year running with a total market share of 24% again rising by 2% on the previous year.&lt;/p&gt;
  &lt;p&gt;Excel has also increased its market share by 1% for the supply of multimode fibre and is within the top four manufacturers of fibre cable in the UK.&lt;/p&gt;
  &lt;p&gt;Commenting on the report Andrew Percival, managing director said ‘We are absolutely delighted with the results, 2012 was a significant year for Excel and saw some great projects come to fruition including Coca Cola, Burberry, London Olympics, Lexmark and Nokia to name but a few.’&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; I would like to thank the enitre Excel team, and most importantly our customers for their ongoing support which has made this announcement possible.’&lt;/p&gt;
  &lt;p&gt;Andrew continued ‘We’ve continued to develop the range and provide our customer base with more choice and we’ve spent a lot of time producing collateral, such as the second edition of the Excel Encyclopaedia that really helps end users, consultants and installers get a better understanding of structured cabling and is the complete oracle when it comes to the Excel solution.’&lt;/p&gt;

  &lt;p&gt;The Network Computing Awards, which took place on 14th March in London, have been running for 7 years and are particularly meaningful as they are voted for by the readers of Network Computing magazine - the people who use the products every day.&amp;nbsp; They were set up to recognise the companies, products and services in the industry that have most impressed the readers.&lt;/p&gt;
