High Density, Small Form Factor
Extreme Networks® Summit X460 provides high density for Gigabit Ethernet in a very small 1RU form factor for up to 52 ports in one system and 416 ports in a stacked system using backward compatible 40 Gbps SummitStack™ or new high-speed SummitStack-V80 running at 80 Gbps and at distances up to 100m between switches. In addition, Summit X460 supports the new SummitStack-V capability to utilize 10 GbE ports as stacking ports, enabling the use of standard cabling and optics technologies. SummitStack-V provides long-distance stacking capability of up to 40 km.

Summit X460 offers optional 10 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity for two ports in one system and 16 ports in a stacked system, with the industry standard SFP+ interface.For emerging demands from data, storage, voice, and data convergence, Summit X460 provides highly scalable Layer 2/3 switching and Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)/Hierarchical Virtual Private LAN Service (H-VPLS) by supporting up to 32,000 Layer 2 MAC addresses or 12,000 IPv4 and 6,000 IPv6 Longest Prefix Match (LPM) routing tables. Summit X460 switches also support Provider Bridges (PB, IEEE 802.1ad).

Summit X460 enables enterprise campus, data center, and Carrier Ethernet edge, aggregation and core backbone deployment in AC-powered and DC-powered environments. Summit X460 simplifies network operation with ExtremeXOS modular OS, available across Extreme Networks Ethernet switches. The ExtremeXOS operating system provides high availability and simplicity with one OS everywhere in the network.
