This intensive five-day program covers the entire cycle of a project from bid to completion. The program will provide students with a basic understanding of project management concepts and tools. Students work in teams to develop a project plan for a typical telecommunications project and develop templates, which can be applied on the job. These templates can also be used on the TPMA certification exam.

­

Sponsored by the Telecommunications Project Management Association (TPMA), the exam is an open book demonstration of project management skills. The exam can be completed manually or using computer based tools such as Microsoft Project, WORD, VISIO, Primavera Sure-Track, or others. For this reason, students are requested to bring laptops with their project management software for use on days four and five of the course. Students who successfully complete the exam will become TPMA certified.

Entry Requirements:

  • Experience of project management at a basic level is advantageous.

Assessment:

  • Become a Certified Telecommunications
  • Project Manager (TPM)
  • BTEC applied for. CNet Certificate
  • BICSI CEC’s: 35 RCDD, 35 NTS, 35
  • Wireless Design, 24 OSP, 12 Installation.

Progression:

  • BICSI RCDD
  • Project Management using IT (Microsoft 2003)
